Dear Crosby School Families,

On behalf of the faculty and staff of Crosby School, I am happy to welcome you to the 2025-26 school year!

I hope your summer was full of fun, family, and good health.  We are so excited to begin a new school year with you!  This letter includes important information to help with planning for the first day of school, which is Wednesday, September 3rd.

YMCA School’s Out Before/Aftercare Program:

School Breakfast & Lunch Program

Arrival Routines:

  • Park in lot and walk child to front door.
  • Breakfast is 8:30am.
  • All others enter at 8:45am.

Dismissal Routines:

  • Car Riders will begin dismissing at 3:00pm – please note time change
  • Bus riders will begin dismissing at 3:05pm.
  • The school must be notified in writing if there is a change in the child’s dismissal routine
  • Please be mindful that buses may be delayed during the first few weeks of school, both in the morning and afternoon.

Attendance:

  • Students who arrive to school after 8:55 are considered tardy.  A parent must accompany a child to the front door for the late sign-in.
  • If a child is going to be absent, please send a note or email to your child’s teacher.  Please also inform the Main Office at crosby@kingstoncityschools.org.

Bus Transportation:

  • Bus information is published on the district website:  https://www.kingstoncityschools.org/departments/transportation
  • A color system is used to identify the buses at Crosby.  It is important for students to know their bus color.
  • Please contact the Transportation Department directly with bus related questions at 845-943-3050.

Back to School Night:

This Year’s Back to School Night is scheduled for September 17 at 6PM.  I will provide a school-wide informational presentation in the gymnasium at 6pm. Please join us!  I encourage all parents to take advantage of this opportunity to meet the principal and your child’s new teachers to learn about school routines and ways to get involved in our school community.

We also post events and photos on our Facebook page as well:

I wish you all a wonderful school year, full of positive experiences.  Try to enjoy the remaining weeks of summer.  Please know that I am here to help you in any way that I can.  I am committed to making sure that all students are safe and happy here at Crosby.  See you soon!
